HCYA Warriors share the love of Christ
The HCYA program of teams and families finished out the year by continuing to be the hands and feet of Jesus! Here are the ways we were able to serve others and each other this past holiday season!
We had the opportunity to provide personal items needed for the senior citizen residents, as well as give some gifts. There were sing-a-longs, great conversations and, of course, some eating of refreshments during the visits on Friday December 16 and Saturday December 17.
Hope for Christmas
“Got a ticket, Get a dinner”! Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church allowed us to serve with them by loading Christmas dinners into the cars of registered individuals/familes on Saturday December 17. The dinners included a meat, vegetables, bread and dessert. The guys were able to get a nice little workout in by loading the vehicles!
On Tuesday December 20, Houston’s First Baptist sponsored a ministry event through their Faith Center where we partnered with them to share the Christmas story, pass out Christmas treats and play with the kids of the community at the playground; fun and funny!
We received two kids to sponsor for Christmas through the Angel Tree project, in partnership with the Alief YMCA and First Southwest Baptist Church. These two young men had their requests filled on Wednesday December 21, by receiving some sports balls, lego/block sets, books, clothes and shoes! Merry Christmas fellas!
The Shai El Project
We were able to provide some personal hygiene gift bags and children’s gifts for the homeless in three (3) different parts of the downtown area. Watching the children receive their gifts and then sitting and playing along side of us; precious.
